1Your car becomes a total loss if it is uneconomical or unsafe to repair, including where the combined repair costs and salvage value are likely to be more than the amount covered by your policy. If your car is a total loss (which includes where your car is stolen and unrecovered after 14 days and we accept your claim for theft), and is less than 2 years old and you bought it as a new or an ex-demo model from a licensed motor dealer, we'll replace your car with a new one of the same or similar make and model.
2This cover does not apply if you are eligible to claim under our Lifetime new for old car replacement (see optional covers).
3Not applicable if you have Comprehensive Advantages as the Hire car after an event for unlimited days cover applies.
^There is no cover for Suncorp Roadside Assist during the first 24 hours of adding the cover. Conditions and limits apply, including fuel value, towing distance and key assistance limits. Replacement battery cost is additional.
Hire car after theft for up to 21 days
We'll cover the reasonable cost of a hire car that meets your needs for up to 21 days following theft, covered by your policy.
Please note: A hire car cannot be used by learner drivers.

Hire car after a not at fault incident
If you’ve had an incident that’s not your fault and you can provide the name and address of the person at fault and the registration number of the at-fault vehicle, we’ll arrange and pay for you to have a hire car while your car is being repaired. Please note: A hire car cannot be used by learner drivers.

Market value cover
You can choose to insure your car for its market value if you select the market value optional cover (and we agree), rather than a specified amount). This option may reduce your premium. Except for the terms of this optional cover, the cover provided by your policy otherwise remains the same.
Note: If you select this optional cover, it cannot be removed from the policy during the period of insurance.
Market value option is available to new policies purchased on or after 5th August 2021 or renewing policies on or after 8th September 2021.
Hire car after a not at fault incident
If you’ve had an incident that’s not your fault, we’ll arrange and pay for you to have a hire car while your car is being repaired. Disclaimer: Conditions apply. Hire car after theft for up to 21 days
We'll cover the daily hire cost of a "similar make or model" (up to $75/day) hire car following theft, or attempted theft for up to 21 days following an approved claim. Conditions apply. Please note: A hire car cannot be used by learner drivers or drivers under 25. Terms and conditions apply see the PDS for full details.
After claim expenses
If your car's stolen or damaged in an incident we will pay up to a total of $1000 towards:
- emergency travel and accommodation if your car's not safe to drive and you're more than 100klm away from home
- emergency repairs to make your car roadworthy or safe so that you can get to your destination or to a repairer
- replacing your personal property such as clothing or electronic and telecommunicaiton devices lost or damaged at the time of the incident.
Note: you need to provide us with all invoices and receipts
Windscreen and window glass cover
When the only damage to your car is the windscreen or window glass (including sun roof), we’ll cover the reasonable cost to repair or replace it, without you having to pay an excess for the first claim, if the incident happened during the period of insurance.
Where a chipped windscreen, that has not cracked, can be safely repaired, we'll also cover the cost of one repair without you losing your one excess free claim in the period of insurance.
Hire car after an event up to 21 days
We’ll cover the reasonable daily cost of a hire car that is a similar make or model to your car (up to $75/day) if, after an incident covered by your policy your car is damaged and cannot be safely driven, is being repaired or has been stolen, for up to 21 days.
Cover stops when we repair and return your car back to you, we settle your claim or you get your car back undamaged. Please note: A hire car cannot be used by learner drivers. Terms, exclusions and conditions apply.

Hire car after an event for unlimited days
We'll arrange and pay the reasonable cost of a hire that is a similar make or model to your car (up to $100/day) for unlimited days until we repair and return your car back to you, we settle your claim, or you get your car back undamaged.

Lifetime new for old car replacement
If your car is stolen or damaged in an insured incident and your claim is accepted as a total loss, we’ll replace it with a brand new car of the same make and model (or similar make and model if the same isn’t available) , or pay you the reasonable replacement cost of a similar make and model to your car, or the amount covered , shown on your certificate of insurance, whichever is higher. This is provided that you bought the car new and it has been insured continuously under our Comprehensive Advantages cover from within 13 months of it first being purchased.
If your car is financed, we’ll need written consent provided to us by the financier before replacing your car.

Lifetime repair guarantee
For repairs we authorise, the quality of the materials and workmanship are guaranteed for the life of the car.
Trailer cover
Up to $1,000 for any one incident to cover accidental loss or damage to your trailer when it’s attached to your car or runs out of control after separating from your car while your car is moving.
Personal property
We’ll cover personal property for up to $500 when lost, stolen or damaged in an incident at the same time as your car (conditions apply)
Locks and keys
Cover for up to $1,000 to replace stolen car keys and recode your car’s locks.
Emergency travel accommodation and repairs
Up to $500 for emergency travel and accommodation costs and up to $500 for emergency repairs.

7 day repair guarantee
We’ll repair your comprehensively insured car within 7 days if you can safely drive to a Suncorp assessment center following an approved claim. If we don’t, we’ll cover the daily hire cost of a compact category hire from the 8th calendar day until your car is repaired. Some claim types excluded.
After claim expenses
