Floating wooden floors (units only)
COVERED
Floating wooden floors are wooden floorboards that are not nailed, glued, or otherwise permanently fixed to a surface. Instead, they fit directly over the existing flooring. Here are instances where coverage may or may not be included in Suncorp’s Contents Insurance.
What policy covers floating wooden floors (units only)
What’s covered
We cover floating wooden floors as part of your contents insurance if your contents are insured in a unit.
What’s not covered
We will not cover any item which is legally part of a unit building according to the relevant state or territory law (e.g., strata legislation) and not part of an individual lot owner’s entitlement. You are responsible for determining whether a fitting is legally part of a unit building according to the relevant state or territory regulations.
Know that if you live in a strata title building, you should be able to obtain a copy of the strata building insurance to understand what you may or may not be covered for. You can learn more about this coverage and other exclusions in the Product Disclosure Statement.
