What’s great about injury to pet dogs and cats cover under Contents cover is that you can lodge a claim, even if accidental loss or damage is not caused by an insured event.

What’s covered

If a pet dog or cat shown on your certificate of insurance is injured in an accident during the period of insurance, then the most we will pay for necessary veterinary treatment is up to $2,000 for all treatment resulting from any one incident. This optional cover is only available with Contents cover.

Know that this cover is optional across all levels of cover, and an injury to pet dogs and cats excess of $100 is applicable if a claim is made, not the standard contents excess.

What’s not covered

There are some instances where you will not be covered. Such as we don’t cover your pet for treatment for any illness, harm caused by something the animal has eaten or injury caused by any business activity such as racing, farming or grazing, but not including breeding or showing. You can read more about this coverage and other exclusions in the Product Disclosure Statement.
