Portable Advantages covers your contents anywhere in Australia or New Zealand when they are temporarily removed from the insured address and jewellery and watches when they are outside of Australia and New Zealand – within the specified limits.
What policy provides Portable Advantages cover?
What’s covered
We cover your contents for accidental loss or damage anywhere in Australia or New Zealand during the period of insurance when they are temporarily removed from the insured address for up to 180 consecutive days.
We cover jewellery and watches for accidental loss or damage during the period of insurance when they are outside of Australia and New Zealand for up to 100 consecutive days but only when the items are being worn by you or secured in a safe.
Know that for claims on items over $3,000, we will ask for proof of purchase, a professional valuation, and a photograph.
What’s not covered
There are instances when you will not be covered. For example, sporting, recreational and leisure goods and equipment are not covered whilst in use, but we will cover bicycles whilst in use, but not whilst being used for racing or pace-making. Also, we don’t cover items that are primarily used for any business activity, drones while in use, and any contents on exhibit or up for sale.
