What’s covered

We will cover reasonable temporary accommodation costs for you and your domestic pets if you aren’t able to live in your unit due to an insured event – like Flood – that we cover causing loss or damage to your contents, and the unit cannot be lived in.

If you are a tenant, we will pay for any reasonable extra rent costs for temporary accommodation. The most we will pay for any one incident for all our levels of cover is outlined in the table above. In other instances, we may pay reasonable or necessary costs, which you learn more about in the Product Disclosure Statement.

What’s not covered

We do not cover any amounts you are able to recover under another insurance policy. We also do not cover temporary accommodation costs if you don’t need to pay for temporary accommodation, if the insured address was not your principal residence at the time or if you had not intended to reside there during the repair and rebuild period. You can learn more about this coverage and other exclusions in the Product Disclosure Statement.
