  • temporary work required to make your damaged home safe; and
  • ensuring the damaged parts of your home comply with current building regulations and laws. Limits and conditions apply.

What’s not covered

There are some instances where you will not be covered. That is, we do not cover the costs of removing or lopping trees or branches that have not damaged the home. We also do not cover the costs of making the home or any sheds/outbuilding comply with building regulations and laws or fire safety regulations if:

  • the home did not comply with building regulations and laws and fire-safety regulations that existed but were not complied with when the home was originally built or when construction, repairs, renovations or alterations were undertaken, and/or
  • the sheds or outbuildings did not comply with council requirements and/or if the required permits were not in place at the time the shed or outbuilding was originally built or when construction, repairs, renovations or alterations were undertaken.

There are other exclusions to this coverage, which you can learn more about in the Product Disclosure Statement.
