The updated Suncorp Home & Contents Insurance PDS

At Suncorp Insurance, we always look for ways to improve to meet the evolving needs of our customers. That’s why we’ve updated the Suncorp Home Insurance Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) to incorporate more plain English principles (like more descriptive headings).

We’ve also adjusted the policy’s coverage. This involved changing or adding covers, limits, conditions and exclusions. We have listed some of these changes below. Know these changes relate to policies starting or renewing on or after 24 May 2025.

The information listed below is simply a summary and not an exhaustive list of all changes. You’ll notice we mention when a policy feature relates to either the home or contents portion of the PDS. We don’t cover all the changes in this summary, so, we strongly encourage you to read the PDS in full to understand your cover.

A PDS is an important legal document that covers the details of the cover you’ve purchased. As it’s a legal document, it’s important you read it carefully.

The information above is not a complete list of the changes to your Suncorp Home and Contents Insurance. For full details of what is and isn’t covered, please read the Suncorp Home and Contents Insurance Product Disclosure Statement (PDS). Consider the PDS before making a decision about this insurance. The Target Market Determination is also available.

Home, unit or contents that are not in good condition

Changes have been made to the exclusion ‘Home, unit or contents not being in good condition’ in order to improve transparency. An example in the general exclusion has been updated to ‘the roof leaks when it rains’ and a fresh example ‘the home or unit (including all sheds, outbuildings and any other structural improvements at the insured address) is not structurally sound or is unsafe to live in’ has been added.
