How to make a claim after severe weather

If you've been impacted by severe weather, we recommend lodging your claim online or via the Suncorp Insurance App as soon as you can. If you haven’t claimed online or used the app before, consider reading our simple guide to Suncorp online services.

You can still make a claim over the phone, but please keep in mind contact centre delays are common during periods following extreme weather.

Ways you can simplify your claim

When you’re preparing for a claim, providing as much info as possible can make claiming easier.

  • Take photo

    Photos of the damaged area can help us assess your claim - but you can still lodge without them.

  • Gather supporting documents

    If you can safely access them, things like receipts and valuation reports can also help.

  • Check your coverage

    Knowing what your policy covers can help you better understand what you can claim for.

Temporary Accommodation

If you can't live in your home after an incident covered by your policy, you may be entitled to reasonable temporary accommodation costs until your home is rebuilt or repaired for up to 10% of the home sum insured (15% with Platinum cover). If you’re not sure whether this applies to you, check your policy documents or get in touch with us to discuss your options.
